Vajrasattva

In the Tibetan Buddhism, Vajrasattva is the sixth Vajrasattva who succeeded the Five Buddhas of Vajradhara. Vajrasattva is the symbol of pure mind and the deity that purifies karma. The four major traditions of Tibetan Buddhism (Nyingma, Kagyu, Gelug, Sakya) all practice the Vajrasattva method as one of the four preliminary practices before practicing the deity method. This method can purify karma and make up for the broken precepts and vows such as the Samaya vows; in addition, it can also make up for the deficiencies in the practice and achieve perfect merit with emptiness.
